EARLY BIRD SPECIAL!

Swedish Group Classes

To find opportunities to practice speaking may be a challenge in any  language studied, but particularly with such a small language as Swedish. Therefore all levels of the summer classes are based on conversation. In the lower level simple articles or children's books may be read in addition, and in the higher level news articles or excerpts from books and poems, as a base for conversation. The summer classes usually consist of small and intimate groups.

Advanced Beginner: Some knowledge of Swedish is necessary and although the student may be most comfortable in the present tense, they should be somewhat familiar with all tenses, as conversations usually occur in the past tense.

IMMERSION CLASSES

In addition to the weekly group classes immersion weekends are offered towards the end of the summer. The immersion weekends are also mainly focused on conversation and listening, but some grammatical aspects will be highlighted through exercises. During an immersion weekend the student will be exposed to Swedish in various forms for an intense period of time, which usually speed up the learning process. Books, articles, film, radio, TV, conversation and visits to Scandinavian Cafe's and restaurants will all be part of the weekend curriculum.

The weekend starts on a Friday evening for a few hours, followed by a full day on Saturday and most of the day Sunday. Two weekends will be offered, but the level will be determined on the level of the participants expressing interest.
